Nadina Embrey
/illustration and fine arts
She is a Los Angeles based artist and illustrator whose personal work explores the nature of shape, the human form, conventions and social constructs.
She is described as provocative, erotic and often times ridiculous. For those of you who enjoy puzzles and kitsch, Nadina’s artwork is worth a second and even a third look. Each time an undiscovered detail emerges, each line deliberately placed or erased. Nadina’s style is undoubtedly consistent and recognizable.
Nadina Embrey has given an exhibition from 28/09/2012 until 07/10/2012 in our gallery.

Nadina presented an assembly of drawings and paintings titled Beautiful Flowers; The Softer Side. It is a part of Nadina’s I Am Series. These artworks were in September 2012 exhibited in Life Is Art. (Acrylic on canvas, 2011)
This is another example of the I Am Series 1. It is called 'He loves me, he loves me not' and was created in 2011. The materials used are acrylic on canvas.
This is an example of another series, ‘Tasty Finales’. Here she explores the sensual and tortured, the sweet and the imperfect. It is a series of bright illustrations that depict deficient female forms subject to sweet torments, such as a layer of chocolate coating or impalement by a utensil among light summer fruits.
Another series 'Hangman’ is both an exploration and homage to the fate of countless figures imperiled for the sake of a simple pleasure. Stark black and white line drawings on paper depict the winners and losers in a different light, leaving the viewer to wonder who really came out ahead.
